Admissions & Eligibility
Admission Process:
Admission to the Crossroads Detox Program operates on a walk-in, first-come, first-served basis, pending a medical triage to assess the appropriateness for detox services. Our Admissions Team will guide you through each step and help determine the best level of care tailored to your needs.
Specialized Care:
We also offer specialized services for pregnant and postpartum women, providing enhanced support for both the mother and child during detox.
Insurance & Payment Options:
David Lawrence Centers works with a variety of insurance providers. Our Admissions and Billing Teams will assist in verifying your benefits and coverage. While insurance is accepted, clients may be responsible for deductibles, co-pays, or co-insurance at the time of admission. For those without insurance, we provide a sliding fee scale based on household income.
Medical Care & Medications
Throughout the detox process, clients are closely monitored to ensure their safety and comfort. This includes frequent assessments of symptoms and vital signs. Medications are prescribed on a scheduled or as-needed basis, tailored to your clinical needs to manage withdrawal symptoms such as sleep disturbances and mood fluctuations. These medications are gradually tapered to stabilize you by the time of discharge.
Important Note:
Controlled substances such as Suboxone, opioids, or benzodiazepines are not prescribed at discharge.
Medication Requirements:
Before admission, all prescribed medications must be brought in original, labeled bottles for review by our treatment team. This ensures safe management during your stay.
Daily Schedule & Program Structure
The detox process at Crossroads follows a structured daily routine designed to support healing and recovery. The day starts at 7:00 AM and runs until 10:00 PM, incorporating a variety of activities to promote both physical and emotional well-being.
Typical Activities Include:
- Therapeutic Groups
- Wellness Activities such as yoga, tai chi, and pet therapy
- Recreational Time for relaxation and self-care
In the evening, a 12-step meeting is held on-site to support early engagement in long-term recovery tools. Group therapy, educational sessions, and other recovery-focused activities play an integral part in the program.
At Crossroads, we emphasize participation in the 12-step recovery model, which has shown strong success for individuals in addiction treatment.
Additional Information
Entering an inpatient detox program is a big step—and it’s natural to have questions. While our team is always just a phone call away, we understand that sometimes you want to explore information at your own pace. Take a moment to review the information below, and don’t hesitate to reach out whenever you’re ready. You’re not alone on this journey.
Technology
Clients should not bring personal entertainment devices such as iPods, iPads, laptops, or gaming systems. All phones and electronic devices are collected and stored securely at admissions. Recreational movies may be viewed during designated times, and clients may suggest movies for group viewing subject to staff approval.
Communication
Communication with family members is reviewed and approved on a case-by-case basis by the treatment team. There are no standard visiting hours on the detox unit, as the focus is on stabilization and preparation for continued care. Phone calls may be arranged through staff if necessary for treatment coordination.
Personal Belongings
Clothing should be comfortable and appropriate for a group treatment setting. Casual slacks, jeans, sport shirts, and modest-length shorts are acceptable. A detailed packing list is available for reference prior to admission.
Nutrition
Meals are prepared onsite and selected daily by clients from a menu. Nutritional needs and dietary restrictions are accommodated through our nutrition services department, which includes a licensed dietitian. Outside food and drink are not allowed.
Tobacco and Nicotine
David Lawrence Centers is a tobacco-free campus, and the Crossroads Detox Program follows a strict no-tobacco, no-vape policy. However, nicotine replacement options, such as patches and lozenges, are available and may be provided free of charge to qualifying individuals. Nicotine gum is not allowed, and tobacco products or lighters cannot be stored on-site.
Re-admission After Leaving AMA
If a client leaves the program Against Medical Advice (AMA), re-admission is not automatic. Each case is individually reviewed by the treatment team to determine eligibility for return to the detox program.
