Naples, Fl –David Lawrence Centers, Collier County’s only comprehensive, not-for-profit mental health and substance use treatment facility serving children, adults and families, is pleased to announce the appointment of Collier County Sheriff Kevin Rambosk to the Board of Directors. He will serve a three-year term.

Sheriff Rambosk has collaborated with the David Lawrence Centers in a variety of capacities, dating back to his 21 year career with the City of Naples where he served as Chief of Police and Emergency Services, City Manager, Assistant City Manager and Captain of Patrol Operations. He maintained and expanded his relationship with the center when he joined the Collier County Sheriff’s Office in 2003 where he served in a variety of leadership capacities including Captain of the Organized Crime Division, Chief of Operations, Undersheriff, Executive Officer, Chief of Staff and now Sheriff. Through his leadership, the Collier County Sheriff’s Office and David Lawrence Centers partnership has evolved to identify the best ways law enforcement can serve the growing mental health and substance use needs of those struggling in our community while maintaining public safety.

Sheriff Rambosk’s progressive view is a strong desire to prevent legal involvementwhere appropriate for those struggling and provide access to treatment as an alternative to incarceration as well as wraparound care upon release to avoid recidivism and rearrests. Some of the recent program collaborations with David Lawrence Centers that the Sheriff has overseen include the youth prevention awareness “We Care Campaign” launched in the Collier County Public Schools, Veteran’s Court, Mental Health Court, Drug Court, Crisis Intervention Training, Baker Act and Marchman Act Referrals, Law Enforcement Assisted Diversion, and the Forensic Intensive Reintegration Support services.

Sheriff Rambosk earned his bachelor’s degree in public safety administration from William Paterson University and his master’s degree in business administration from Nova University. He is also a graduate of the FBI National Academy.

Sheriff Rambosk is extremely passionate and dedicated to community service. He currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Florida Sheriff’s Association, the Collier Senior Resource Center, The Shelter for Abused Women and Children, the Greater Naples Chamber of Commerce, Boy Scouts of America, and is the Vice-Chair of Drug Free Collier. In the past, he has served on the board of Leadership Collier, The Community Blood Center, and the Juvenile Justice Council. This love for community has earned Sheriff Rambosk a number of awards including the 2014 Good Citizenship Medal from The National Society of the Sons of the American Revolution, the 2012 Men of Distinction Award from The Education Foundation of Collier County, the 2011 Leadership Award from the Florida D.A.RE. Officers Association, just to name a few.

Sheriff Rambosk is most interested in the new innovations and interventions available to assist those in need of mental health and substance use treatment. His vast knowledge, skills, and abilities in strategic planning, communications, organization development and community collaborations will be an invaluable asset to the Board of Directors and will help further David Lawrence Center’s mission to restore and rebuild lives of all of those in need.
