DAVID LAWRENCE CENTER ADDS CHILD AND ADOLESCENT PSYCHOLOGIST DAVID FUENTES TO CLINICAL TEAM; EXPANDS CHILDREN’S SERVICES

Naples, Fl – The David Lawrence Centers, Collier County’s only comprehensive, not-for-profit mental health and substance use treatment facility serving children, adults and families, is pleased to announce the addition of David Fuentes, Psy.D. He will serve as a Child and Adolescent Psychologist in Children’s Outpatient Services and provide services in Naples and Immokalee. The addition of an experienced, bilingual Psychologist was imperative for adding additional evidence-based services such as psychological testing to better meet the needs of children and families. The position is being funded by the Naples Children & Education Foundation Beautiful Minds initiative.

The hiring of a Child and Adolescent Psychologist is one of various steps the David Lawrence Centers has recently taken to continually innovate toward bringing the highest quality of care to our clients. The David Lawrence Centers is beginning to galvanize the community to raise funds to take even broader steps to add capacity and access to child and adolescent care.

Fuentes earned his Bachelor of Arts in Psychology at Florida International University and his Master of Science in Clinical Psychology at Carlos Albizu University in Doral, Florida. He continued at Carlos Albizu University to earn his Doctorate of Psychology in Clinical Psychology with a Child Concentration.

Fuentes has over 10 years of experience treating patients with mental illness and substance use problems. Prior to joining the David Lawrence Centers team, Fuentes worked as a Graduate Professor/Program Coordinator at Jose Maria Vargas University in Pembroke Pines, Florida and at the University of Phoenix, Miramar Campus. Additionally, Fuentes worked as a Behavioral Health Program Administrator for a Federally Qualified Health Center in Liberty City, Florida. Before completing his Doctorate degree, Fuentes served in various roles working with patients from a wide variety of cultural and social backgrounds as a therapist, psychometrician, intake coordinator, and prevention counselor.
