Kayda Johnson
Board Member

Kayda Johnson is the retired Chief Operating Officer of Senior Resource Group headquartered in Solana Beach, CA. She was responsible for all facets of operations. The company is a developer, owner, and operator of high quality senior living and care communities throughout the United States. The portfolio consists of 32 communities serving over 10,000 residents. Since 1991, Kayda held the position of Chief Operating Officer in large senior living firms. Recruited in 1991 to join Integrated Health Services, she led and broadened the company’s portfolio to 33 communities and in 1996 was instrumental in taking the newly named, Integrated Living Communities through their initial public offering. Senior Lifestyle Corporation acquired Integrated Living Communities which had grown to 42 communities. Kayda joined Senior Lifestyle Corporation as Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer and merged the two operating companies into one. The corporation grew to 67 communities. Ms. Johnson joined Senior Resource Group in 2000. Prior to 1991, Kayda held positions as Western Region Vice President and Director of Operations. Before entering the senior living field, she held various positions in the acute care sector. Throughout her career, Kayda was very active in the senior living industry. She served on the Boards of Directors of Argentum and the National Association for Senior Living Executives (served as Chair) as well as various committees of the National Investment Center for Seniors Housing & Care (NIC) and the American Seniors Housing Association (ASHA). She served as a Director of LivHOME until the company was sold.

Ms. Johnson was an adjunct faculty member of the University of Redlands for 21 years and was the recipient of the Excellence in Teaching Award and named Outstanding Faculty Member. Currently, Kayda serves on the Board of Directors of CARF (Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities) serving three terms as Chair and is a member of the Executive Compensation Committee. Following retirement and before moving to Naples in 2021, Kayda’s philanthropic and volunteer work was extensive. She served as a Board member, Vice President of Administration, Director of Member Giving and co-chair of two annual fundraisers for ARCS (Achievement Rewards for College Scientists); Chair of Scripps Encinitas Hospital Advisory Council; President’s Council/Scripps Health System; Advisory Board member of The Cambridge School; Carlsbad Charitable Foundation Grants Committee to name a few. Ms. Johnson holds an MBA from National University where she graduated with distinction, a BS in Health Care Administration from Chapman University, graduating summa cum laude, and an RN/AAS from Northampton College. She is also a licensed Nursing Home Administrator and certified Residential Care Administrator. Kayda serves nationally on various committees, task forces and provides subject matter input on senior living. Ms. Johnson also is a member of the Board of Directors of Collier Senior Center and serves as Secretary and member of the Annual Fundraising Committee.
