Prior to his retirement in 2009, Ed spent nearly 40 years in the health care industry in various capacities. He served as Senior Vice President for the Bon Secours Health System, a large multi state health care provider of hospital, long term care and home healthcare services. Prior to Bon Secours, he served as a consultant for several years; first as a principal in the Baltimore Office of Arthur Andersen and as a managing consultant in the Washington office of Towers Perrin. Before this, he served as President of the Maryland Health Care System, a six hospital consortium in Baltimore Maryland that provided its members a range of shared services.

Since his retirement, Ed has become active in various civic and charitable activities in Collier County. He currently serves on the Boards of Physicians Regional Health System and the David Lawrence Center. He previously served as  Board Chair of the Senior Friendship Health Center and is Past President of the Greater Naples Leadership. He also served on the Audit Committee  of the Community Foundation of Collier County and was a member of the Collier Citizens Council.Ed also was  a member of the Blue Ribbon Panel that studied Emergency Medical Services in Collier County.

Ed received his B.A. degree from the University of Maryland and his M.B.A. from George Washington University.
